Making initial appointments for family members?

Sometimes a family member (whether partner, spouse, child, sibling...) believes that a loved one will benefit from a consultation about herbal medicine and wants to set up the initial consultation appointment on behalf of that person. Experience has shown that sometimes this causes problems when the patient is reluctant or unwilling to adopt our approach. At worst it can be a waste of time and money as well create some upset. For this reason we do require that patients fill out their own paperwork (unless physically impossible) and make the appointments themselves, even if the research and connection was performed for them.

Pediatric cases are a separate issue discussed elsewhere in this forum.
